Multi-tenant platform for WhiteWater
Smartificial created a shared platform architecture that could support multiple venues from a single foundation while still allowing each deployment to be customised for local requirements.
The Client
WhiteWater is an American company that builds large-scale entertainment infrastructure — water parks, attraction parks, resorts and hotels. Vantage is its software subsidiary: it runs those venues once they open.

The platform was already live when we joined. A large backend and three cross-platform mobile applications were running across the group's venues. Everything we do comes after that first version: we scale the system, fix what breaks and ship features into parks that are already open.
The Challenge: one codebase, many parks
A guest books a room, takes a sunbed, buys a ticket, asks whether the pool is full, checks out. Multiply that by thousands of visitors a day and you have the operating side of a resort.

WhiteWater opens venues around the world, and that is where the engineering problem sits. Fork the code for each new park and you get code drift: the same bug living in a dozen slightly different versions, each needing its own fix. The platform is built the other way — one shared core, a separate instance per park.
The three applications
Behind all three sits the backend: bookings, venue state, and keeping the apps in step with each other and with what is happening in the park.
Vue360, the control panel
Park operators work from it, with access both to visitors and to the running of the venue. The system allows staff to manage check-ins, monitor capacity and operate the venue directly from tablets and mobile devices without relying on fixed control points.
teamVue, the staff app
A separate application was built for venue management teams, providing real-time visibility into facility operations — including pool occupancy, zone usage and guest flow.
GuestVue, the visitor app
We developed a cross-platform guest application covering venue navigation, ticket purchasing, bookings and digital check-in. The app replaced printed maps and manual entry flows with a unified digital experience across mobile devices.
What we built
Smartificial has been on the project since February 2024, with ten engineers: six on the backend and four on Flutter. Most of the volume sits on the backend.

  • New features shipped into all three applications and the services behind them
  • Bug fixes made once in the shared core and carried out to every park
  • Scaling work as the group adds venues and load
  • New instances stood up for new parks, configured to the site and the payment providers its region uses
  • Releases and ongoing support of the running infrastructure

A new park comes up as an instance of the existing codebase rather than a fork of it. That is how a large venue in Saudi Arabia launched, with its digital side ready when the construction was.
Outcome
The platform runs across 8 entertainment venues, with daily attendance reaching up to 4,500 visitors per site. A guest moves through the visit on a phone instead of a paper booklet, and staff see the state of the park as it changes.

The engagement is ongoing. We design the solutions, ship the releases and keep the infrastructure running, and the next park opens on the same core as the last one.
